Ashish FW13
As much as I loved the workwear and keffiyeh print inspiration at the Ashish show, it was this single denim patchwork dress that truly captured my heart. I love the multi-coloured fabric swaths and the slouchy oversized shape. If I had to pick one piece from Ashish's autumn/winter collection to have this would definitely be it. With that said, the rest of the collection was equally alluring. Mixing something as tough as workwear with sequins is a brilliant and unexpected pairing. As always, I'm madly in love with Ashish's creations. The mega blown out hairdos also has me wishing that I had a permanent member on staff to do my hair in the morning. Why am I so lacking in volume?
MONOCHROME...
I'm currently crushing big time on monochrome. Simple black and white feels so fresh. All these items are currently sitting in my imaginary shopping basket. I just need to decide which to go for. I'm thinking the jumper and the dress on the far right...

CASPER&PEARL...
I just discovered this adorable brand casper&pearl. It was started by an eighteen year girl in Adelaide and was established in 2011. I'm obsessed with the dreamy vintage feeling separates. My favourite piece from the collection are the pocket full of posies shorts (last image). They remind me of something my grandma would have worn in the '70s while exploring Mexico. They are definitely being added to my birthday wishlist. Mom, are you reading this?

OSIRIS AROUND MY NECK...
I'm completely in love with Moxham. My favourite piece from the new spring/summer collection is the Osiris necklace. It's massively chunky and quite heavy but such an awesome statement piece. Here I'm wearing it over one of my favourite t-shirts that I picked up on ebay.
Wearing: Moxham Osiris necklace, Somewhere Nowhere embellished hat, Paul & Joe Sister jacket, wolf tank top from ebay and Topshop jeans.
ON LOVING YOU SOLELY...
This is the only photo that really matters from the Topshop Unique show - it displays all the best bits of the collection. A swingy full pink sequined skirt bounces around and hits at mid-calf. There were lots of trousers that were exactly the same length (I want a pair, desperately). You can just see a hint of the jacket on the model's arm. It's an oversized slouchy number with sleeves that have been turned up. Cropped and wide, it's a shape that showed up on many looks from the collection and will undoubtedly be a popular fit come next autumn. Last, there's the shoes. Oh, the shoes. I love them dearly and have made a mental note of adding them to my imaginary shopping basket. They would do rather nicely on my feetsies comes next Autumn. I like the idea of wearing baby pink in the fall. Normally it's more of a spring colour but Topshop shows it deserves a place in winter too. I couldn't agree with them more on this.
Topshop, you've rocked my world once again.
IT'S SO FLUFFY...
Meet one of my favourite cardigans. By Swedish brand DAGMAR, it's super fluffy and soft with a multicoloured pattern from the waist down. It's so warm that when I was in London I could wear it without a coat or a jacket. Love.
Wearing: DAGMAR cardigan, Joseph trousers, Aila bag, Muriee scarf and Ash shoes.
GET YOUR NIKE ON...
Forget about sky high heels, this season at London Fashion Week the fashionable crowd were all sporting Nike trainers. I'm rubbish when it comes to heels. I'd much rather wear a pair of bright tennis shoes any day. The only problem is choosing which pair to go for. Nike has so many options and they are all customizable. You can choose the colour you want for every part of the shoe. With that much choice I'm left a bit clueless for what to pick. I do know one thing for sure though, this is a trend I can definitely get behind.
MICHAEL VAN DER HAM AW13...
Shooting backstage at Michael van der Ham was serene. Everything was clicking away like clock work. The models had fake half fringes clipped into their hair and had dark moody eyeliner applied to their lids. I love seeing the clothes hanging on the rail and then seeing them come to life on the catwalk...
The collection was absolutely gorgeous. There were tops (see top right) with holes cut out of them. It almost looks as if some super powerful moths went to work on the fabric. My favourite pieces were the sheer tops (see top middle) with embroidery on them and the brocade pencil leg trousers. The show closed with three stunning dresses that would look killer on any red carpet. Michael van der Ham isn't a designer that I was familiar with before the show but since seeing this collection he's become one of my favourite London designers. *Collage photos from style.com*
Massive thanks to ebay for getting me backstage and for inviting me to the show.
HI FROM LONDON FASHION WEEK...
Hello hello.
I'm writing to you from my comfy bed at the Fielding Hotel. It's 7:30pm and I'm all tucked in for the night. Party pooper? Maybe. But I can't help it. It just feels so right. Anyway. I just wanted to say a quick greeting from London Fashion Week. The mayhem kicked off yesterday at 10am for me with the Zoe Jordan show. Since then I've been to 10 shows. My favourite so far has been Zeynep Tosun. I was totally unfamiliar with the designer but was blown away by the show. Tomorrow is the day I'm looking forward to most though. I can't wait to see Charlie May's show and Topshop. Until then... see you later little monkeys.
Wearing: MSGM floral sweater, Carven jersey flip skirt, Aila clutch bag, Muriee scarf and Ash shoes.
CURRENTLY OBSESSED WITH MOXHAM...
How gorgeous is the new Moxham look book? I'm completely obsessed with the oversized hardware. Madeline, the founder, has really taken the brand to the next level with this collection. It's completely covetable. The Osiris and Anubis necklaces are my absolute favourites. I love how they combine chunky metal detailing with leather. They've both been added to my mental wish list.

GET YOURSELF ONTO VINE...
Are you guys on Vine yet?
I've had it for a week and I'm totally addicted. It's like Twitter but with video. You can string together little snippets of video and loop them together into a GIF like creation. It's so fun and, now that I have it, Instagram feels so passé. I've made dorky Vine videos of me looking at myself in the mirror, getting dressed, and eating pizza. I'm really looking forward to using it during fashion week to capture all the action and street style. If you aren't on it already I'd urge you to hop to it immediately. You can find me under 'stylecrusader.' If you're on it already please leave me your username in the comments. I'm looking for new people to follow.
p.s. this weekend I'm switching over my blog to a new layout so apologies in advance if it's a bit wonky during the change over.
COVER ME IN SEQUINS...
I woke up this morning with thoughts of Ashish floating around inside my head - slouchy oversized white shirts and lots of sequins. All the models wore old school white Reeboks. They're so bad that they're somehow good. Ashish is always one of my favourite shows at London Fashion Week. I'd give my little pinky to have one of the oversized sequined T-shirts.
p.s. the scrunchie is clearly making a comeback.
LIFE'S A PHOTO...
This past weekend I travelled to Berlin with Samsung to celebrate the completion of their 'Life's a Photo' campaign. They ran an online photo competition to discover which city is the most photogenic and Berlin won with the most votes. We travelled around the city checking out sites in the afternoon. It was absolutely freezing cold but so much fun. We were all given a Samsung Galaxy camera to play with for the day. You can go online with it and even upload photos straight to Instagram. The camera is super easy to use and really great if you want something small that you can take on the go. The photos are better quality than I can get with my phone which makes it a great alternative to using my iPhone plus it's way lighter than my dSLR. Definitely a winner in my books.
Massive thanks to Samsung and Jam for inviting me to the event.

A LITTLE BIT IN BETWEEN...
Freezing temperatures have meant that I've been staying inside cuddled up under a blanket most days. How did over a week go by without me posting anything on this blog? I've just started taking an intensive German class so my mind is tuned into arbeitens and Deutsch instead of fashion. Please accept my sincerest apologies. I still love this blog but I do feel as though I've come up against a bit of a brick wall. Does anyone else ever feel that way? I'm not sure what I want to post about and outfit shots just seem so mundane these days. How many photos can you see of me snuggled up in a warm coat? Fashion week is coming up in a few weeks so hopefully that will give me an injection of inspiration. In the meantime here's a shot of me from yesterday wearing a casual low maintenance outfit. I'm loving burgundy legs and wooly jumpers these days.
Wearing: Laird & Co Hatters hat, Patouf jumper, J.Crew jacket, Topshop jeans, Lilifi clutch and Balenciaga boots.
A LOOK INSIDE: VOGUE COLLECTIONS...
Holla chicas.
Whenever someone I know is coming back to Zurich from London I bestow upon them the monumental task of bringing me back bucket loads of magazines. English magazines are so overpriced here that I never buy them - so I relish the opportunity to get anyone I know to act as my donkey for them. This time my husband brought me back Vogue Collections. Have you seen it before? It's incredible. It's separated into the five categories: Paris, Milan, New York, London and accessories. Inside are just pages and pages full of looks from each fashion capital's shows. There isn't much text, just a little description of each show and there are also hardly any advertisements. Perfect for drooling over and an excellent alternative to browsing style.com. It comes in at a hefty 25quid but totally worth it if you want to have a tangible reminder of how drool-worthy all of last season's shows were.
