Gap ss15
Sometimes I go into Gap and don't see anything I like. Other times I walk in and find myself entering the dressing room with an arm overflowing with pieces.
At the moment, Gap is pulling at my heart strings. They have so many simple basics that would make it much easier to get dressed this summer. Below I've picked out a few of my favourite items that are in at the moment.
They include a little black dress that is near on perfection, a denim button up that looks like it ought to cost much more than it actually does, and a bucket bag that is the doppelgänger of the, now much sought after, Mansur Gavriel one. There is also a little striped tee (can you ever have too many?) and a pair of distressed boyfriend jeans that look heavenly. I think it's time I pay a visit to the mall and try some of these bad boys on.
// ON STICKING TO CLASSICS //
Sometimes I get bogged down with fashun.
My mind gets all cluttered with the idea of attaching sequins to water shoes or wearing socks with sandals. I get fixated on oversized coats and slip on shoes. I troll style.com and Pinterest, scroll through the endless pages of Net-a-Porter like a robot in a trance... looking, searching for the next great thing. Then I snap back to reality. I remember that in fact there are plenty of things in my closet that I love and can wear. I don't need to buy into any trends or get anything new because really what I love (and want to wear) are the classics - of which I have plenty.
Pea coats, Breton stripes, skinny jeans - these are my default items. Each season, regardless of what comes in and out of fashion, these are the pieces I wear over and over again. All I need to do is take off the jacket and swap the boots for Birks and, voila, I've got my summer uniform sorted.
Wearing: Gap jacket, Aubin & Wills jumper, 7 jeans, Balanciaga boots, American Apparel bag and Dolce & Gabanna sunglasses.
FALLING BETWEEN THE GAP...
While driving over to downtown St Louis to scout graffiti walls it occurred to me that blogging is a very strange thing indeed. Do I spend my days lazily leaning against paint splattered walls? No. Am I willing to drive across town in search for one to take a picture by? Yes.
When Gap asked me to pick out my favourite items from their current collection to be put into a Christmas wish list I jumped at the opportunity. The brand has long been one of my favourites. Whenever I'm back in the US I make a beeline for their shop to stock up on basics - as I'm sure you already know, they're the best.
Wearing: Colorblock stripe sweater, 1969 always skinny jeans, shrunken leather moto jacket, cable twist cowlneck.

SOMEWHERE BETWEEN HERE AND THERE...
I love new pieces of technology. Ever since I received this Samsung Galaxy Note it has been glued to my side. I use it mostly for just browsing the web. It's a great little companion and looks super cute tucked inside this Nicholas Kirkwood graphic leather case.
These photos were taken on a rainy day last week in Zurich. I'm currently in the US on holiday with my family and it feels like these photos are from a million miles away. I'm out here for the next few weeks so expect lots of cheesy American themed photo shoots coming up.
Wearing: Gap coat, 7 for all Mankind jeans and Topshop boots.
