Merry Christmas!
Nothing brings out family traditions quite like Christmas. Every year, since I can remember, my family has made a birthday cake for Jesus. We light candles, sing and blow out the candles before any presents are opened. Decorating the cake was always a highly anticipated event that my sister and I would perfectly plot... now my niece and nephew take over, making a mountainous pile of icing and sprinkles in the middle. It might sound (and look) a little silly but it's the simplest and tastiest way to remember what this day is really about.
Hoping that everyone has the merriest of days! xx
Mayhem...
Talk about madness... yesterday I toppled down the stairs while holding my niece and chipped my two front teeth. Never did this song ring ever truer - it's embarrassingly ironic that I just mentioned it last week in this post. Thankfully I was able to get into the dentist today and all is back to normal. Is it just me or does everything seem to turn into slight mayhem around the holidays? I'm at my sister's house in the US and we have four little kids, six grown ups and two dogs all under one roof. It's a little wild but completely wonderful and I'm so happy to be here.
Earlier this week I came across this fisherman jumper in the men's section at J.Crew. It's definitely one-part awkward old man with the bulky fabric and all-over cable knit but I love it. I've added it to the mix of items I can't stop wearing... also included are these 7 for all Mankind skinny jeans and my trusty Topshop Ambush boots (which are sadly starting to look a little worse for wear - maybe I should declare it new boot o'clock?).

Fröhliche Weihnachten!
The countdown has officially begun... less that one week until Christmas!
Hoping that everyone is able to take it easy this week and soak up a little holiday cheer. Hot chocolate every night, Bing Crosby on repeat and A Christmas Story are my must-have list. I've been trying to take in as much Christmas magic as humanly possible. It's pretty easy to do in Zurich - the city embraces the holiday vibe in the most endearing way. There's a big market in the train station and smaller ones scattered throughout the streets. Lights are everywhere and there are baubles galore but not the slightest sight of anything brash or commercial - just the way it should be.
Happy Holidays! xx
Retro Super Future
The whiteness is almost blinding. I busted out my new Retro Super Future sunglasses today to help shade my eyes from the snow... even though the sun is barely making it over the horizon. Okay okay, who am I kidding, I just wanted to wear them.
Wearing: borrowed fur hat and sheepskin coat from the Inglis family cupboard under the stairs and Lucia Havana Glitter sunglasses from Retro Super Future that I got for Christmas.
