Freezing temperatures have meant that I’ve been staying inside cuddled up under a blanket most days. How did over a week go by without me posting anything on this blog? I’ve just started taking an intensive German class so my mind is tuned into arbeitens and Deutsch instead of fashion. Please accept my sincerest apologies. I still love this blog but I do feel as though I’ve come up against a bit of a brick wall. Does anyone else ever feel that way? I’m not sure what I want to post about and outfit shots just seem so mundane these days. How many photos can you see of me snuggled up in a warm coat? Fashion week is coming up in a few weeks so hopefully that will give me an injection of inspiration. In the meantime here’s a shot of me from yesterday wearing a casual low maintenance outfit. I’m loving burgundy legs and wooly jumpers these days.

Whenever someone I know is coming back to Zurich from London I bestow upon them the monumental task of bringing me back bucket loads of magazines. English magazines are so overpriced here that I never buy them – so I relish the opportunity to get anyone I know to act as my donkey for them. This time my husband brought me back Vogue Collections. Have you seen it before? It’s incredible. It’s separated into the five categories: Paris, Milan, New York, London and accessories. Inside are just pages and pages full of looks from each fashion capital’s shows. There isn’t much text, just a little description of each show and there are also hardly any advertisements. Perfect for drooling over and an excellent alternative to browsing style.com. It comes in at a hefty 25quid but totally worth it if you want to have a tangible reminder of how drool-worthy all of last season’s shows were.

Lying in my bed on the eve of 2013, I’m scrolling through a years worth of blog posts. Nostalgia is setting in. Pass the tissues. Highlights definitely include fashion week and twirling in the teacups at EuroDisney with Shini. A trip to Jamaica also ranks high on the best moments from the year. My favourite post I did this past year has got to be ‘A letter to my fellow bloggers’, wherein I write a letter addressing the misconceptions and lies that surround being a blogger. I loved reading everyone’s comments and thoughts in response to the post. Thanks so much for sticking with me through 2012. I can’t wait to see what’s in store for the year ahead.

AN AMERICAN PHOTO DIARY…
I spent three weeks in the US recently. It was awesome. I ate a lot of food and got to spend lots of quality time with my family who I’ve sorely missed this past year. My parents bought a new house which we played in and I became best friends with their new miniature dog named Minnie. It was board games every night and early mornings, thanks to my sister’s four kids and their early starts. I already can’t wait for the summer when we get to go back again.
