on being scammed.
Experience thus far points towards Swiss people having a high charm-factor score. The passport control officer even offered up visa advice while warmly welcoming us into the country… as opposed to the British who, I swear, assume you’re a terrorist smuggling drugs up your bum regardless of how sweet you might be. Ran into a dodgy situation yesterday afternoon though when a ‘letting agency’ tried to score 500 SEK in cash off of us in exchange for… well, we’re still trying to figure out what we were meant to get from the agreement. Catastrophe avoided though. We bolted out of that place and headed for the hills, where we had lattes, rode a tram, and gazed at the skyline (snow covered Alps included). Zurich is more beautiful and enticing than imagined it would be… now, if only we could find a place to live.

I don’t like it when people try and take advantage of you simply because you weren’t born and bred in that particular place. Thankfully my boyfriend knows how to deal with these things much better than me! He says its a part of life and happens everywhere (I have particular experience of this in our local garage…) !! Its good you got away though without having to fork out a load of money for not very much!

What a lovely looking city! I think I went there YEARS ago, but once you move there you can bet that I will be visiting!!!
Boo scammers, I’ve run across PLENTY in my time in NYC, and pretty much every time I’ve moved apartments. Good job avoiding them
Glad you got the hell out of Dodge, JJ. It looks lovely & I know the perfect place is just sitting there waiting for you to find it. There must be something in the air: I’m getting scammed right & left since yesterday morning. There’s probably an astrological explanation.
Sending you guys good thoughts. Get a room with a view! xx
Oh your boots are so pretty!
Apart from almost being scammed, I am super jealous of your new and exciting life in Zurich! This is seriously exciting. Hope you manage to find somewhere soon (I’m sure you will).
PS. I love your shoes! I tried some similar ones on yesterday (they were on sale so thought I might treat myself), but somehow they just weren’t quite right.
xx
lovely photos!

Wow the beauty of this place already seems incredible. Your going to have such an amazing time!
Thanks god you realised they were trying to scam you before anything terrible happened. Some people see opportunity in the lowest places.

A bummer about the attempted scam, but love those boot chains.
