Hey there doll face…

Spent a bit of time playing in the back alleys behind Oxford Circus yesterday afternoon…

Wearing my usual get up but with a very special addition: a half-and-half leather skirt from Flik Hall’s Spring11 collection entitled Mannequin Parade. Yep, that’s right, this ultra lux piece has got little chubby baby doll pieces printed right onto the front creating a geometric pattern. It’s the sort of thing that is discrete enough that it’s perfectly wearable in the day but has a bit of a crazy twist when it’s examined up close. I definitely had a few people staring pretty hard at in while I was on the tube over. I nearly wanted to lean over and whisper, ‘yes, it’s what you think it is.’

  • That skirt is perfectly disturbing as it is calming through the geometric arrangement, you should’ve asked for the baby-arms necklace, that would’ve been the cake on top. But I guess you ain’t fashionista enough, pft!

  • What a funky skirt!!! I took a look at the Flik Hall website and I really enjoy this line. It’s so unique, dark, and humourous all at once.

  • Love the skirt, and with the converses it’s perfect ! very cool.

Interesting skirt material- would love to see a close up of it. Have fun in London!

You’re such a casual babe, so surprised you haven’t managed to ‘split’ the skirt :D

  • Before I read your description I wondered what the skirt was! I would have likely been one of the people staring at you, things like this I need to figure out haha

I think you’re right, it’s a classic sort of shape, but the pattern makes it so much more interesting and I love that it’s subtle from far away

  • I’m kind of weirdly in love with this skirt! It would definitely make for a good conversation starter. The half-and-half makes it all the more amazing – from the back, it seems like a normal bodycon skirt and then BAM! doll bits. It’s like a fashion example of a bad 80s mullet: business in the back and party in the front!

  • it didnt quite click that it was a leather skirt until i read it in the commentary.. Looks REALLY cool! I have always had a fascination with leather jackets – i currently own at least 4 or 5, but last season i also added trousers and a skirt to the count.. what can i say?! i just love leather i guess
