HEART BALLOONS AND CAPOEIRA…

Mmmmm… [long pause]

That was me exhaling a gigantic breath of relief. London is wonderful but whenever I step off a plane at Zurich airport and head towards my bed I feel like I’m entering into some quasi-therapuetic post-psychotic dream. I’m pretty much in heaven because it’s so chilled out here. I managed to score a couple new wardrobe staples while I was away so I’m feeling slightly less distraught over my less-than-capable wardrobe. In other news: today I chased down a red heart balloon, watched crazy capoeira boys in the park and thought that public toilets in Zurich came with complimentary showers and hair dryers. Apparently not, but there are little holes to dispose of your needles. How very thoughtful of you Eveline.

Hope you’re having a wonderful weekend! xx

  • hahahahaha! neeedles!? oh well, at least we know we won’t be getting HIV in Zurich
Ahh my bed always feels so much softer after a long trip too

  • I totally get what you mean! I am just crazy about London too, but there’s something so wonderfully soothing about coming back to my home in Cambridge where nothing moves faster than the wheels of a Pashley cycle, and just lazing about on the river (or not getting out of my pyjamas all weekend)

Sorry we couldn’t meet this time, but hopefully on your next visit! Hope you had such fun :)

I’m so sad we didn’t get to explore Parliament! Ahhhh. That would have been so much fun. We’ll definitely have to try to plan it a bit further in advance next time.

p.s. LOVE the thought of you on your Pashley (in my head your covered in Chanel and pearls… oh, and Lagerfeld is sitting in your basket). xx

  • oh these pictures make me sadddd.. make me think of Elliott Smith :( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=afeAUndotas&ob=av2n

  • ahh you look so cute with your red balloon, glad your trip to london fundon was good xx

  • Ernest Hemingway cigarette book = best accessory ever! I’m looking forward to re-reading A Moveable Feast this summer and letting his words inspire me anew. I’ve never actually seen one in person, but is the cigarette book actually readable?

Hi Kate! I TOTALLY agree. I’ve been dreaming about getting a Hemmingway book since last year… AMF was one of my favorite books when I was younger. Bizarrely it is totally readable. The text runs quite close to the margin so you have to pull it a bit… which doesn’t actually matter. It’s just so beautiful that I don’t want it to get the slightest bit damaged. I took it to the river yesterday and it was SO MUCH EASIER than lugging a big book (I already had a massive magazine, food, towels, sun screen etc etc etc). It’s getting the most hilarious responses from people. I like just setting it out and seeing if my friends notice and go, ‘Whaaat?! YOU DON’T SMOKE!!’ Best novelty present ever (but actually good because it’s useful).

I haven’t seen them sold anywhere… let me check. I’m sure they’re available somewhere. xx

Hello Jenny! Great blog, I love it!

  • The whole of Switzerland *is* a luxury spa resort, no wonder you feel relaxed when you get “home”. We miss you though…even if we have been replaced by Paolo, Paolo, Paolo.

  • I truly appreciate this post. I have been looking everywhere for this! Thank goodness I found it on Bing. You have made my day! Thank you again
