FOGGED UP AND FROZEN…
It’s really cold. Like minus 15 degrees celsius in the middle of the day cold. I’m from California. I don’t know how to deal with this kind of weather. There are two options: embrace hermit mode and refuse to leave the house or channel my inner yeti. The second option involves Ugg boots and a scarf wrapped around my face so many times that I can’t see or breathe. Neither are good. But, this week I have enjoyed running around my flat in shorts and a tank top, giggling at people outside slipping around on the ice.
Today I branched out and decided to venture onto my roof to take some photos. Only, after two minutes my lens had fogged up and was starting to form little ice crystals. Hence photo three. Blurry washed out nothingness, I learnt, is what my camera gives me in minus 15 degree weather.
Wearing: Jigsaw coat, Jaeger cashmere sweater (stolen from my husband), 7 for all Mankind skinny jeans, Converse and Celine bag.
Thank you Freddy for taking these. xx

AMAZING! I love how whitewashed everything is
You must have been bloody freezing wearing that lot outside!! Nuts.
Jen you loook stunning in the cold, I think it’s your hair and your facial expression. You made casual dressing look cool in the cold.
My face was blasted by the cold force of icy wind on my arrival at my local tube station…argh.
Welcome back to LANDAN
These photos are stunning, I really love number 3 even though it’s probably really not good for your camera…!
I’ve embraced hermit mode and it’s not even that cold in the UK (hovering around 0°C).

That was lens fog, I thought it was some fancy pant effect it looks good!
You look fantastic! XO
Pretty girl! You look so beautiful in these pictures and isn’t it funny that photo 3 looks really good, was actually wondering what function you had used to create it! haha
I am going to brave the cold in a bit too, the snow is too pretty to resist XX
I’m like you, I’m from Australia and don’t know how to deal with lands of ice and snow (hence my usually inappropriate footwear).
But love these photos so much (and that coat is perfect)!
Briony xx

You look so cool, as in… actually cool, not temperature cool but awesome-cool. But dayum, I couldn’t wear a pair of Converse in weather like this. It’s around -10 over here in Amsterdam, but I’m gladly wearing my Timberland boots. That cashmere sweater, on the other hand, is a delightful idea!!
that looks beautiful and freezing

The last photo of you is really beautiful. The washed out nothingness seems to act as a lovely filter!
We hit -16 the other day! It was horrendous
it’s getting cold in Barcelona too, not minus 15º but 4º something like that and a lot of appartment dont have central heating, I guess the owners dont want to install it since it’s cold only 3 month per year, but when it’s cold it’s freezing cold and humid !
I prefer going outside in the stores where it’s warm!
love your coat !!
That first picture of you is breathtaking, I so so love the touch of color in your winter outfit. Those pink gloves are just too cute! Please keep warm and be safe!
Nora
This is amazing!
I can’t even imagine it being that cold… no wonder you because a yeti!
How I love your coat! So cool and modern..and it suits you so well!
Note to self: when faced with the prospect of freezing in ridiculous weather, look fabulous in an amazing winter coat! The fourth picture is so effortlessly chic, and I love that hint of black underneath the popped collar x
LOVELY pics as always Jen! And WOW that is so so cold. We’ve had such a mild winter here in New York…some brutally cold days, but recently it’s been in the high 40s/low 50s F. Stay warm with lots of hot chocolate from Cafe Peclard!
It’s freezing here too! I wore my 7s in the snow on the weekend too!

Ok these photos are ridiculous. Like, ridiculously amazing. I’m beyond impressed you were able to shoot outside! I’m such a baby, even if Lauren is down to shoot in 20 degree weather with only a light coat I’m like ummm, let’s shoot in my studio instead. Boring but warm!

PS. Vote for us on Refinery 29? I know. Shameless.
It helps if you grow up with the cold (Sweden in my case). This was more intense: http://www.thestylecrusader.org/2010/12/a-nordic-fog/ minus 25 degrees celsius. Just stick the camera on continuous and hope for the best. Every once in a while a blind squirrel finds an acorn (at least thats my approach to photography).
Looks like you finally got some snow, yay (and for central heating)! The fogged out effect is kind of cool, it makes it feel more wintry and you worked well with it. Hope that you have a good (warm) week! xx
Wow Jen, the view from your roof looks like something from a beautiful fairytale! Like a sea of little gingerbread houses covered in icing sugar.
I love your outfit – especially how you’ve still remained to look so chic even in such freezing conditions (the last time I was in NY in winter, I looked like a big roasted marshmallow every day!!!)
Also here it’s incredibly cold… I’m actually happy this year, because in the past two years it was more or less constantly below zero from November to February (especially two years ago, just arrived from Italy… Oh. My. God), now at least it started only in January! XD (ahhh the joys of Belgium…)
I love your photos, they really give an idea of the freezing cold… I think that the first one is probably one of the best I’ve seen on your blog, I really love the colors!

such a pretty coat!
Love these photos! It seems freezing up there, but you look cool as always. The grey outfit is perfect with this background.
It’s extremely cold here in Korea too!
And I’m always wearing my huge scarf all on my face!! =)
Awesome coat! Looks warm!
Love from Seoul,

Wearing Converse at minus 15? Well, you’re a brave girl
I love the frozen lens effect! And I have to say, you look so super cute in these pics! Hard to imagine how cold you must have been, but all it did was make you look beautiful! Great photos!
